The event will place from November 18th to 19th, 2021 in Inhambane Province
PARALLEL SESSIONS
Each parallel session has a moderator to guide the presentations of 4-6 speakers on sub-themes and specific subjects related to the themes introduced in their respective plenary sessions, followed by a discussion and an ideas exchange from the audience. Also included, are the logging of commitments from the session and a brief summary of it by the moderator.

PARALLEL SESSION 2: MARINE POLLUTION
Moderator: Honorable Celso Ismael Correia, Minister of Land, Environment and Rural Development
Themes:
• Case studies on plastic waste recycling.
• Experiences in environmental protection and promotion of cleaning actions on beaches.
• Marine Plastics and Coastal Communities.
• Challenges for the disposal of marine plastic pollutants at source.
PARALLEL SESSION 3: TECHNOLOGY, INNOVATION AND SOCIETY
Moderator: Honorable Jorge Penicela Nhambiu, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology.
Themes:
• Success stories of innovation as business drivers in the oceans.
• Technology development and transfer in sustainable ocean exploration.
• Our Sea, our Life: Locally managed marine areas established and run by CCP’s in Northern Mozambique for Coastal Communities and Marine Biodiversity.
• Mikoko Pamoja initiative as a community conservation and business project.
• Production and transfer of scientific knowledge about the oceans as a basis for the education and development of society.
• Role of Education in disseminating values of sustainable development and information on biodiversity and conservation.
PARALLEL SESSION 4: SAFETY AND MARITIME PROTECTION
Moderator: Michele Stallone, Specialist in marine safety
Themes:
• Measures to combat illegal immigration, trafficking of human beings at sea.
• Challenges of national EEZ protection in the context of the IUU and organized and cross-border crime.
• Sharing experiences on the challenges of coastal zone protection in the face of threats from organized and cross-border crime.
